Above the Sea marks the debut of Selim Lallaoui, a director whose universe is already strong and poetic. Conceived as a graphic tale, the film reveals his sense of detail, his sensitivity, and his visual mastery. Selim created everything: directing, art direction, and design. A 2022 graduate of the MoPA school, Selim Lallaoui immediately made his mark on the international scene. His student film, La Diplomatie de l'éclipse (The Diplomacy of the Eclipse), achieved resounding success, notably winning the Silver Medal at the Student Academy Awards and the prestigious Best in Show Award at SIGGRAPH.
